HAWKS NEST WEDDING IN WINCHESTER, KY

Updated: Apr 1

Codey and Sarah's Hawks Nest Wedding was a party that people will talk about for years to come. Codey knows how to have a good time, and his passion is infectious. And Sarah, who is filled with joy, surrounded herself with people that care for her deeply and bring out the best in her. As Sarah walked down the aisle, Codey grinned from ear to ear. His bride was on her way to him. A new journey began that day, and it could not have happened at a better location!

I often travel to different cities to do wedding videography, and it's a huge bonus when I'm able to find a gem venue that is brand new to me. When the opportunity was presented to me to create a wedding video at the Hawks Nest in Winchester, Kentucky, I didn't know what to expect. The same questions flooded my mind when I hear about a new venue... Will the venue fit my storytelling style in order to help me make the best video possible? Would the lighting be okay during the ceremony as well as the reception? Is elegance and beauty something this venue will sacrifice in order to cut corners? As I prepared for this wedding I quickly learned the type of professionalism that I would be dealing with. Not only is this venue one of the best wedding venues near Louisville, Kentucky, it's one of the most beautiful as well. The drive up to the Hawks Nest is bordered by the classic black Kentucky fences and the canopy created by the trees make for elegant photos and video. The barn is fully renovated, but isn't lacking the character of a classic Kentucky barn wedding. The bridal suite is tucked inside the barn as well, totally eliminating the stress a bride may feel if her and her bridesmaids were traveling from a different location. This venue is an easy choice for me as one of my picks for the best wedding venues in Kentucky.

There are many moments from Codey and Sarah's wedding that were perfect. One moment that comes to mind has to be Sarah's first look with her father. As he turned to see his daughter for the first time in her dress, you could see on his face how proud he was of Sarah. They prayed together then began to prepare for the ceremony that he was officiating. He cried joyfully throughout the day, and it was evident to all how much he loved Sarah.

Codey and Sarah's wedding was a dream, and I am grateful for the time I got to spend with them and their families. Check out their wedding video below!
